Pokémon Sword And Shield Will Have Co-Op Raids, New Forms, Will Launch Nov. 15

Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have released a ton of new information about the upcoming Pokémon Sword and Shield games releasing worldwide November 15.

As fledgling trainers explore the Galor region, players will get to do a little co-op adventuring in Max Raid Battles. These raid Pokémon have gone though something called Dynamax, letting them grow huge and greatly increase their strength. Up to four trainers can battle wild Dynamax Pokémon, but only one trainer can use a Dynamax Pokémon during the fight. If players win they can capture the Pokémon with a giant beach ball sized Pokéball.

Players can also use Dynamax during a fight but only once but battle, similar to Mega-Evolutions. Dynamaxing your Pokémon means bringing out it’s maximum strength but it only last three turns before the Pokémon returns to normal.

Nintendo was a little light on the details of online play but with E3 just around the corner, more details will be coming soon.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield is set to release on Nintendo Switch November 15.
