Director Jeff Fowler has responded to the quick and vocal criticism of Sonic’s design in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film.
“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast”, Fowler tweeted.
This response comes just days after the trailer for the film released, flooding the internet with parodies, redesigns, and memes.
Fowler did not offer any idea what the changes might look like or what feedback specifically will be taken into consideration.
Hopefully, the changes to Sonic’s design won’t come at the expense of animators, artists, and those who will need to update Sonic’s look.
Sonic the Hedgehog is set to release in theaters November 8.
